New paper: one flight-computer architecture for LEO, GEO and lunar missions

Our team presented “Modular and Reusable On-Board Computer Architecture for Multi-Orbit and Deep Space Missions” at the 11th International Conference on Recent Advances in Air and Space Technologies (RAST 2026).

The paper describes a single flight-computer hardware baseline for LEO, GEO and lunar missions. A modular backplane and a common PCB layout take either radiation-tolerant or radiation-hardened components, so each mission needs only module-level changes.

Validation results from LEO and GEO missions show bus usage and telemetry budgets within operational margins, and measured SEU rates confirm the memory protection. The architecture is baselined for the national lunar mission. The same thinking is behind our GEOPARS and LEOPARS flight computers.
